Check out the trailer for debut film The Price of Success from French Z Team of talented and young martial artists. Movie atmosphere reminds me Kill ’em All movie with Tim Man and Joe Lewis, and fight scene in dojo against white gi fighters reminds Kiss of The Dragon with Jet Li. A lot of references to good action films, but let’s wait for an actual release.
One of the cast members Laurent Buson played Luc in Merantau movie alongside Iko Uwais, so we can expect something special in fight choreography if Gareth Evans decided to get him into his first martial arts movie.
Synopsis: When a team of Shaolin-trained kung fu actors is about to get their break in Hollywood, a mysterious and sadistic Director forces them to run a gauntlet through Los Angeles. The Director films their every move as they prove their prowess by provoking a rogues’ gallery of underworld thugs and martial artists.
FABIEN GARCIA
When Fabien Garcia was barely a teenager, he realized his fascination with the martial arts and began training in the styles of jiu jitsu and viet vo dao. Fabien wanted to train with the best and barely 20 years old, journeyed to the remote Shaolin monastery where he was strictly instructed 10 hours per day during a year. Fabien is one of four founding members of the Z Team martial arts action crew and he exhibits his multihyphenate prowess as director and co-lead actor in the upcoming feature film The Price of Success.
LAURENT “LOHAN” BUSON
Laurent Buson studied martial arts and gymnastics at an early age in Marseille, France. Laurent entered mainland China and traveled to the Shaolin monastery where he trained under the supervision of 2nd master Shi Yong Xu. In June 2003, Laurent founded the Z Team, the first-ever foreign martial arts action team based in China, the birthplace of kung fu. He quickly earned a role in Silver Hawk starring Michelle Yeoh. In 2004, Laurent produced, co-choreographed and starred in Z Team’s first short film, Duel, which received over a million internet hits and won them some well-deserved martial arts credentials. In 2009, Laurent was handpicked by lauded action director Gareth Evans for his first feature-length in Merantau.
