Jason Statham’s Homefront

Watch Jason Statham kicking as** in the first clip from Homefront.

IGN has the new Red Band trailer.

Homefront isn’t your average Jason Statham thriller: for one, it’s written and produced by Sylvester Stallone, stars James Franco as the gap-toothed, psycho meth-cooking villain (think Deliverance meets Breaking Bad) and features a supporting cast that includes Winona Ryder and Kate Bosworth. But fear not, all the Statham staples are there: kidnapping! Hicks being thrown through windows! Disconcertingly frank dialogue! (“There’s a man with a gun trying to get into the house,” isn’t the most reassuring thing for a daughter to hear.) Just remember kids: don’t get into a playground tiff – unless your Dad is one of the Expendables.

Directed by Gary Fleder (Kiss the Girls) and based on the novel of the same name by Chuck Logan, Homefront involves Phil Broker (Jason Statham), a former DEA agent who sees his quiet family life turned upside down when his path crosses with a band of drug traffickers, led by Gator (James Franco), a meth kingpin.

Homefront also stars Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth and Vincent D’Onofrio and planned for release on October 4, 2013.
