A mysterious martial arts master of Warrior TV Series

NBC’s Warrior TV series just added a new cast member. It was announced on Thursday that Will Yun Lee will be joining the cast of the martial arts drama. The plot of the TV show is the story of a heroine who is working to bring down an international crime lord with the guidance of a mysterious martial arts master.

The project is written and executive produced by the man behind Traveler, David DiGilio and directed by Phillip Noyce. Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald will served as executive producers as well.

Lee, who is known for his roles in Hawaii Five-O, Trueblood and Marvel’s Wolverine, is set to play Susano, a deadly and dangerous martial arts expert who is head of a Japanese crime syndicate where he enjoys considerable power, wealth and respect.

We have the first traditional pilot order of this pilot season. NBC has given the green light to Warrior tv series, written/executive produced by Traveler creator David DiGilio and exec produced by Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. The project, from Universal TV, is set in a grounded, contemporary multicultural and sometimes magical milieu where a damaged heroine works undercover with physical and spiritual guidance from a mysterious martial arts master to bring down an international crime lord. The premise makes Warrior, which was a late sale at the tail end of pitch season, a contender for NBC’s Friday genre block anchored by Grimm.

DiGilio, repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment and attorney Karl Austen, reunited with NBC, Parkes, MacDonald and Uni TV for Warrior after working as co-executive producer on their pirate drama Crossbones.
