Streets of Myth where everyone knows kung-fu

Here comes the news from the British “Lady Dragon” Zara Phythian. After He Who Dares movie she continues working hard breaking her way into the martial arts movie world meanwhile running two successful martial arts academies in London.

Streets of Myth is a live action web-series from UK independent filmmaker Brandon Kahn, set in an alternate-universe, contemporary England where every neighbourhood is a fiefdom and every wrong look can end in blood.

At first glance, the Birmingham in Streets of Myth looks a lot like ours. The buildings look about right. The clothes are the same. The kids listen to hip-hop and hard rock. But instead of a city, they are a loose collection of gangs and petty rivalries, tied together and policed by the weakened and corrupt forces of The Crown. These gangs aren’t quite like our gangs though. They don’t have guns, they have swords. Each neighbourhood has their own power structure, their own laws and their own fighting style.

At first glance, web series reminds Luc Besson’s District B13 set in the ghettos of Paris, but as been said before Streets of Myth is set in an alternate-universe of England and it gives it another flavour. Check out the first trailer below where Zara Phythian and Beau Fowler go toe to toe.
