Suffice it to say this movie is a frenetic orchestra of kicks to the face, stabbing, screaming, biting and bloodsucking, and crescendos galore with Indonesian action star import, Yayan Ruhian, and lead actor Ichihara Hayato front and center for the film’s June 20 release in Japan.

Yakuza Apocalypse is due to hit theaters in 2015. Watch the teaser trailer below.
Takashi Miike mixed his genres again in Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War Of The Underworld. The martial arts movie wrapped production in May and is in the edit room now. Expect to see the film hitting screens sometime in 2015.
Ichihara Hayato stars alongside Indonesian martial arts star Yayan Ruhian, as a sensitive young yakuza who discovers his allegedly indestructible boss is actually a vampire.
Seigi Deguchi and Keiji Tsujii serve as stunt coordinators. Producer Yoshinori Chiba worked before on such movies as Karate-Robo Zaborgar, Yakuza Weapon, Death Trance etc.
“Yakuza are unique to Japan so we combined that with vampire action. Regular people who get bitten become yakuza [sporting tattoos] and overrun the city, while the real gangsters are thrown into chaos.” – Miike.
