Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse collaboration project Enter the Master is now titled simply The Master. Directing duties have been handed off from Chan Hing-Kai to Soi Cheang, who helmed last year’s excellent Hong Kong action racer Motorway. The film will begin shooting this year.
The Master martial arts movie is set in a US-based Chinatown where Donnie Yen’s martial arts master is pulled into the middle of a deadly Triad war thanks to his friendship with a new immigrant, played by Nicholas Tse.
Also on Donnie’s docket as part of his recently launched production company Super Hero Films is a collaboration with director Derek Kwok (Gallants, Journey to the West) titled Dragon City. Just like The Master, the story of kung fu film is set in the 70′s, and follows Donnie as an ace cop fighting crime in Kowloon Walled City. The City has since been demolished but during that era, Kowloon was a massive structure with over 30,000 residents – it was also largely ungoverned and ruled by the Triads.

Here comes the news from Film Business Asia that Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse team up for the possible future martial arts franchise Enter the Master if the first film will be successful of cause. These actros are the most popular and powerful now in Asia and see them together again is a good chance to get a really hi-octane action. In case you forgot, they worked on Dragon Tiger Gate movie in 2006 and showed outstanding catchy fights.

Enter the Master is to be directed by a veteran in the Hong Kong film industry Chan Hing-Kai, he served as a screenwriter for A Better Tomorrow and Beast Cops.
