Filmmaker Sakamoto Koichi is ready to present his live-action adaptation of Hurricane Polymar anime series in Japan on May 13.

The 1974 television anime inspired the 1996 New Hurricane Polymar video anime project. To celebrate Tatsunoko Productions’ 55th anniversary Japan releases the film.

Film stars Mizobata Junpei and from the trailer you can see how flash kicks from Chinese movies influenced the Japanese cinema which always kept the traditions of conservative martial arts such as Karate, Judo and Kendo.

Koichi Sakamoto who directed the film served as a stunt coordinator, producer, and director for much of the Power Rangers franchise. You will feel the trend, just watch the trailer below.

Synopsis: Yoroi Takeshi is a former street fighter, but he now works as a private investigator. Takeshi also possesses a special suit made out of an augmented polymer. The suit transforms Takeshi Yoroi into Hurricane Polymar who has super strength, high-speed rotation, and ability to transform into five different kinds of vehicles. He can only stay as Hurricane Polymar for up to 46 minutes and 1 second before reverting back. As Hurricane Polymar, Takeshi goes up against villains.
