JCVD also announced that Full Love have been selected for the Official Premiere Ceremony of the Shanghai International Film Festival. There is still no words on an official release date yet.
Jean-Claude Van Damme just revealed the new poster for Full Love previously known as The Eagle Path or Soldier on his official Facebook page.
This movie is JCVD’s personal passion project, and not another martial arts movie, that have been in the works for the last four years. He starred, wrote, produced, directed, and edited the film himself. The plot is as follows:
“Military veteran and former mercenary, Frenchy (Van Damme) works as a taxi driver, and hiding in Bangkok, picks up a beautiful female passenger who will change his life forever. When he embarks on a journey to save her he has the fight of his life.”
This is what JCVD had to say about the project back in 2011:
“I put my own money into The Eagle Path – it’s a very personal project for a number of reasons, not just because [of that] or because my son Kristopher and my daughter Bianca are in the movie. It’s a story I wanted to tell for a long time. When I’d talked about making the film before, people told me they liked the idea but then suggested changing so many elements that it would no longer have been the movie I wanted to make. After JCVD, I knew I wanted to do something that was a little different, and I thought it was time to do this project. So I decided to put up the money myself and shoot the movie I wanted to make. I used a lot of new actors, and I gave them the chance to improvise, to breathe life into their characters. We had a cast that was all working together for the same goal. It’s a hard film to talk about without giving too much away, and I am interested to see how people respond to the project and the performances.”
Van Damme is working on his new project Full Love, along with his two children Kristopher and Bianca Van Varenberg. The movie is filming in Thailand with a $5 million budget.
Very little is known about Full Love at the moment other than that it was shot in Thailand and is a very personal project for the man behind it, so personal that two of his children – Kristopher and Bianca Van Varenberg – both have roles in it. As for Van Damme himself, he describes it as being “based on a true story, based in another reality”, which is as confusing as it is intriguing. Beyond that he simply notes that it is “about love, friendship, and dedication.”
JCVD will hit theaters on November 7th 2008.
