Since relase of Taken in 2007 we all were waiting for news from Luc Besson regarding the sequel. Shooting, in all senses, gets underway in October.
There were a lot rumour about replacing Liam Neeson with Sean Bean, Mickey Rourke, Ralph Fiennes, Ray Winstone or Jason Isaacs, but now officially comfirmed that original cast will back. Luc Besson has once again written the script in cahoots with Robert Mark Kamen, and Megaton, who directed the Besson-produced Transporter 3 and Colombiana, will be taking over the reigns from Pierre Morel.
Besson revealed that Megaton has been scouting locations in Los Angeles, but said the production will only film there for a little bit. Also he and Kamen have already completed a further couple of screenplays.
Plot: Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.
Fight choreographer in the first movie was Olivier Schneider who worked previously on Danny the Dog, The Transporter, Rush Hour 3, so hope Besson will hire him again and we will see tough and deadly fighting scenes.
Taken 2 is set to realease on Friday, October 5, 2012.
