Treasure Hunter is a Chinese variation of The Mummy

Here is a trailer for thrilling Chinese adventure with martial arts movies elements Treasure Hunter which finally will be released in USA on September 15. The film, starring Jay Chou, who you have seen as Kato in a remake of Green Hornet movie. This movie has been released in Asia 31 December 2009, so a year later western audience have a chance to watch it.

In the latest action adventure of Taiwanese director Kevin Chu brings to the big screen a desert-biking versus horse riding and looks basically a Chinese variation of The Mummy adventure movie set in the northwest desert where countless prosperous dynasties have ruled in the past centuries, so there is rumor of a treasure of unbelievable riches buried there.

Set in the desert in the northwest corner of the world, where numerous dynasties have risen and fallen, “The Treasure Hunter” is about a group of mysterious guardians who protect a map that reveals treasures of unimaginable riches within the arid landscape. When the map resurfaces after thousands of years, a fierce competition between bounty hunters and bandits ensues, and its keeper is forced to pass it onto an honorable soul, Ciao Fei.

Having also starred in Curse of the Golden Flower and The Green Hornet, Jay Chou is a name that is becoming ever-more familiar in the Hollywood hills. He is a one trick pony — the right look, but no substance. Like Keanu Reeves, Chou suits a role that requires limited emotion and expressions.
