Bullet Train is the story of five assassins who board a high-speed train running through modern Japan. The assassins learn their goals are somehow connected – the trailer indicates a MacGuffin in the shape of a precious briefcase – which pits them all against each other.

The movie is based on the book of the same name by Kōtarō Isaka (originally published in Japan with the title Maria Beetle), and it features an immense ensemble cast including Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Zazie Beetz, Sandra Bullock, and more.

Leitch first worked with Brad Pitt back in the late 1990s, their first collaboration being David Fincher’s cult classic Fight Club, and their shared resume includes titles like Spy Game, The Mexican, Mr. And Mrs. Smith, Ocean’s 11 and Troy.

Bullet Train is being produced by Leitch and Kelly McCormick through their company 87North along with Antoine Fuqua and Kat Samick. Executive producers are Kotaro’s Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma, with Brittany Morrissey executive overseeing the film for Sony Pictures.

The movie is pushed back two weeks and will now come out on Friday, July 29, which was set to be the release date for Black Adam before its delay.
