CG movie Tekken Blood Vengeance

You’ll be able to see the next Tekken release in 3D, making the act of a mohawked robot punching a bear more immersive than ever. You just won’t be able to play it. Announced at a Namco Bandai event in Dubai, Tekken Blood Vengeance is a new CG movie scripted by Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Cowboy Bebop writer Dai Sato, with animation by Resident Evil: Degeneration’s Digital Frontier.

Both English and Japanese-voiced versions of the film will be available, and the game’s voice actors will be used for some characters. “We tried as much as possible to use the same voice actors as in the game,” said Harada-san. Though the Tekken producer couldn’t yet share any details on the film’s plot, he reassured putative wary Tekken fans with the close involvement of the Tekken development team.

The movie is being produced by Digital Frontier (the outfit that created Resident Evil: Degeneration, Death Note, and Appleseed) and scripted by Dai Sato, writer for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Cowboy Bebop. The director is Youichi Mouri, who directed the opening cinematics for both Tekken 5 and Tekken 6.

You can see the first trailer. Tekken Blood Vengeance will be out in Japanese theaters this summer.

By the way, Anchor Bay Films announced a North American release of one of the best martial arts movies 2010 Tekken, which will hit Blu-ray and DVD on July 19.
