Frank Grillo getting more attention from film producers and this is really good for action movie genre as this actor is a perfect cast as an action hero.

New action movie Wheelman unites Grillo as a lead and producer with Joe Carnahan and Jeremy Rush.

Frank will put the pedal to the metal as a getaway driver forced on the run with a car full of stolen cash and his family at stake following an awry bank robbery, desperate to learn who betrayed him and the answers therein with none other than his 14 year old daughter to aid him.

“This is a full throttle, edge-of-your-seat ride of your life and we are delighted to be producing this film with the incomparable Joe Carnahan,” said Nestel. “Frank is perfectly cast as a man who has to dig deep and who will stop at nothing to protect his family and survive. It doesn’t get better than this.”

Grillo has worked steadily for decades, but only recently he has generated serious attention, playing Crossbones in Captain America, a tough guy in The Purge and a gym owner in MMA TV series Kingdom. But his real breakthrough role was in Warrior as MMA trainer Frank Campana. People in the industry saw it and said, “Who’s that guy?”

“I was a wrestler, I played football, lacrosse. After high school I got into BJJ. I boxed my whole adult life. I’m a physical person – I like to get hit. I’m a believer in getting punched in the face. I know it sounds clichéd, but to me, fighting is a metaphor for life.”

Production is scheduled to start in September. The Solution Entertainment Group will present the film at Cannes.
